A search team has discovered the bodies of a missing Merced County family.

The three children and their mother were confirmed dead by the Sheriff's Office Thursday morning around 8:30.

The accident took place when the victims were on their way to meet one of the family members at a hospital in Hoshiarpur after dropping another family member at home in Ludhiana.

Four members of the Berkley family who vanished from their Northern California home on Monday were found dead in their overturned SUV Thursday, shot execution-style, according to law enforcement.

 

Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said in a statement on Wednesday that deputies found the bodies of each of the four family members, including the 8-month-old.

Tonight, we believe we found the four missing adults. At this time, we are treating this as a murder-suicide. Detectives are currently investigating and processing the scene in hopes of releasing more details later tonight.

A California man was arrested at the Canadian border after using the credit card of his missing ex-fiancée, who disappeared after a trip to Starbucks almost three weeks earlier, authorities said.

A South Carolina deputy was shot and killed in York County late Friday, and the sheriff's office described it as an "ambush-style attack," according to Sheriff's Office spokesman Trent Faris.
